HIGHLAND MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD

The Angela Kellie Doll Collection

This collection consists of about 272 dolls with items from all over the world.

Based on Angela Kellie’s own family doll collection, other dolls were donated by various Highland ladies, and the collection became known as the Angela Kellie Doll Collection.

It was formerly displayed at two other locations in the Highlands. On Angela Kellie’s retiral the Highland Museum of Childhood acquired the title to the whole collection which comprises a wide range of dolls from as far back as the early 1880s.

Almost every type of doll is represented, for example, wooden, composition, parian, bisque, wax, cloth, fashion, folk, automata, character and baby dolls.

Several important doll manufacturers are represented.
